Prior to establishing Portsmouth Communications Ltd, Norman spent 32 years working with BT. He started out as a field engineer, working initially within the domestic market, followed by a move into the business sector, where he became initially a Senior Engineer and then an Installation and Maintenance manager responsible for a team of engineers.

Basic changes within BT, who moved from local service centres to call centres and shifted emphasis to process rather than people and customers, led to Norman leaving BT in 1994.

Strongly believing that businesses need to have closer relationships with their suppliers, Norman founded Portsmouth Communications in 1995.

Norman has always insisted Portsmouth Communications Ltd will never be ‘Business to Business’ but ‘People to People’.
